D.I.Y – Double finger rings

On 20/11/2011 by Bonafide Supernova

.

Designed to be worn simultaneously on both fingers double finger rings are an eye-catching fashion statement.

Double finger rings have been ‘all the rage’ for a while now so I decided to type up a quick D.I.Y guide so you can get as crazy and creative as you like!

Check out my top picks of the most original for inspiration.

Source the feature piece for the ring, think buttons, brooches, doll house minatures, padlocks, old earrings, whistles.. the possibilities are endless!

Get your ring base, you can buy double finger ring bases on eBay in a wide range of sizes and colours you can also buy single ring bases.

Glue your feature piece on to the ring base, some people opt for superglue but I find glue guns to be much more efficient. Hold in place for 25 seconds then leave to dry before wearing.

Good old ethical fashion recycling!

It seems as though the ladies have gone mad for the Versace for H&M collection- as the sales hit the roof and most of it was sold in 30 minutes!! WOW, I hear some of you say; yes 30 minutes. It seems the highly antcipated collection was on most people’s mind and they were ready to spend the cash on one of Versace inspired dresses, Jewellery and more.

The collection was launched at a star-studded ceremony in New York last week featuring Lady Gaga and Prince, with the items on sale ranging from £19.99 jewellery to a £199.99 leather jacket.

Miss Selfridge Designed By is to die for

On 17/11/2011 by Bonafide Supernova

The party season, if it hasn’t already started, is literally around the corner for the most of us, and something else that’s just around the corner from me is one of my favourite high street stores, Miss Selfridge. I had an hour to kill before work and wanted to try on a few dresses to gather what shapes I’ll be wearing over Christmas, and came across the most beautiful dress I’ve seen in a very long time. Ethereal and printed with a soft leather bodice, the dress that fit me like a delicate glove hung at the front of the rail among some other mullet-hem evening dresses and whispered, “Try me”. So I did.

Part of Miss Selfridge’s deluxe Designed By Collection, there’s an actual waiting list for the maxi number. Exclusive online, the dress was an accidental refund by one of the store’s staff, but for the five minutes that I wore it (and took pictures of myself in it), it was mine. It reminded me so much of Kate Bosworth at the 2010 Hollywood Style Awards – almost like an A/W Jil Sander. So ladies, Rate or Slate?
