FIGHT FOR FASHION 2011

On 16/12/2011 by Bonafide Supernova

On Friday myself and fellow supernova Sam attended the Fight For Fashion charity fashion show at The Great Western Arcade Birmingham.

The event was set up to raise money for Help For Heroes, and what a fantastically fashionable way to raise money it was!

Arranged by Birmingham City University Fashion students, the show had backing from Alan Sharman Agency, Style Birmingham and Benjamin Ryan Hair to name a few.

The show itself featured a number of different designers and stores showcasing their key looks on the catwalk. The models strutted their stuff effortlessly and all looked fabulous.

Attendees included the Lord Mayor of Birmingham and BBC presenter Genelle Aldred.

Twitter followers included the likes of Eylure and My Street Chic. The event even had support from Calvin Klein model Rob Evans.

Now if Rob Evans isn’t enough to make you want to attend… I don’t know what is!

A Red carpet entrance, free food and drinks, pop-up stores, a raffle and more, were on offer throughout the night. I even managed to win a Xbox game courtesy of SEGA, although I was a little gutted my number was called just before I saw a pair of shoes being snapped up!

Let’s hope the organisers continue to keep up the good work and maybe if we cross our fingers there may be many more Fight For Fashion events to come!

My Day @ Clothes Show

On 11/12/2011 by Bonafide Supernova

Well, I finally got myself to the Clothes Show 2011 in Birmingham this year……by the way I just got myself there! I made it on the Wednesday- last day of the fashion antics and mad it in the last 3 hours before ‘close down’.

It wasn’t the most easiest of shows to attend, firstly I got there and thought it would be less busier because it was the last day……NO! Complete opposite, it was tremendously busy, some people even said it was one of the most crowded days since the show started. Thankfully, Bonafide Supernova received a press pass to the show so I was able to go straight into the press office to get away from all the crowds, screaming young girls who were screaming out loudly, at each celebrity that walked past. There were quite a few celebrities, I guess the ‘D’ list celebrities- sounds harsh but they are i.e. Hollyoaks cast, TOWIE cast members and more!

Excitedly, I went in to see one of the last Clothes Show Catwalk shows, which I’d thought I would miss.

Might I say, it was the BEST fashion show I’ve seen EVER!! Now I’m not just saying that might I add, it was amazing. From the lights, the stage set, the models, the dancing and the fashion was catchy, eye popping and spectacular! THE MEN……yes, the men in the show were HOTTTTTTTTTT.

There were some serious clothes envy taking place from my end.

As you can see, Jade (winner of Britain & Irelands Next Top Model) was also at the show, looking lovely as ever.

I managed to grab myself some serious bargains on the day, to the stage were I stupidly purchased too many things and ended up walking around the rest of the arena with about 15-20 bags (what a shambles, lol).
