SHOE ENVY

On 31/08/2012 by Bonafide Supernova

We were lucky enough to have the pleasure of attending the Nelly.com UK shoe tour which took place last month, in various splendid venues and in the UK’s most fashionable cities.

So thanks to Nelly, the Bonafide team; along with a few Bonafide Supernova followers received the opportunity to attend the Nottingham and Birmingham VIP events. No girl could decline the chance to be filled in a room with other like-minded guests but more so because you’d get the chance to get some serious ‘shoe envy’.

Below are some of the shoes, the girls picked- if it were you; which nelly.com would you have gone for?

Kelly’s new shoes that she got from Nelly.com courtesy of Bonafide Supernova, the shoes are called ‘Fabulous’ and they are pretty fabulous if we say so ourselves!

Tamara (Bonafide Fashion Writer/PR) picked these beauties called ‘Jade’ and they seem to have created a lot of hype. She’s been captured wearing them at the Buy My Wardrobe launch party and all the ladies LOVE!

Zara (Bonafide Social Media assistant) decided to go for these spectacular heels and we think they’d look great on a night out; once again truly ‘fabulous’.

Miss Hannah O (Singer/Songwriter) attended the Birmingham Nelly.com VIP event and picked these fabulous shoes called ‘Jak’ and they are definitely shoes with a difference.

BEAUTY IN THE BOX

On 30/08/2012 by Bonafide Supernova

I’d not heard about Glossybox until recently when I was casually browsing on some other blogs and came across a post by a blogger (can’t remember exactly which one). That’s where I read about the beauty experience in a box, 5/6 items and all you have to do is subscribe; pay a monthly fee and get monthly beauty treats, right to your door step. Now, I’m not the biggest fan of all the beauty or skincare products (not always the typical girly girl); here are the reasons:

1. I don’t know how to put make-up on; all I can accomplish is slapping on some mascara and lipstick…..what the heck is concealer?? I am useless when it comes to those type of things

2. I always seem to not make any time to actually learn all about make-up, beauty treatments etc- I think I just need to make a little more time to pamper myself

3. I’ve seen a lot of girls spend heaps of money on beauty products and why spend all of that on beauty products; when I can buy more shoes, clothes?? (you know you’re thinking the same)

With all that in mind, I bet you you’re all thinking: why on earth is she even trying out any of the products in the Glossybox? Actually, I think I am the right person to give it a try. For novices’ like me this is a great way to slowly introduce myself to beauty products. By experiencing the Glossybox I can test small sized products and also get a variation of products; not just the same things. This way, I don’t have to choose what I want; someone else provides you with an experience which they hope you’ll enjoy.

My catchphrase for it is: ‘Beauty in the box’- I think all women should try it, even if it’s once but I think once you are familiar with the Glossybox experience you won’t want to stop.

Lipstick probably needed to be a little darker to go better with my skin tone

P.S. I tried to put on the stick on nails but my thumbs are just too big; so they wouldn’t fit. Note to self: I probably tried to apply them incorrectly, LOL!

Independent Designers – Ili Goren

On 26/08/2012 by Bonafide Supernova

I love independent designers, so I’ve decided to do a feature piece on some of my faves.

Recently I joined Instagram and it’s really been helpful in sourcing independent brands. I came across a jewellery designer based in Israel, who makes her own perspex pieces. So if you’re a fan of Tatty Devine, Mawi, Lynsey Luu or Melody Ehsani you will absolutely love Ili Goren.

Her jewellery is fashion forward, original, kitsch and perfect for fashionista’s who like to stand out.
Ili recently became a jewellery designer after working in women’s clothing. She found that selling other people’s design’s were just not fulfilling her creative needs.

The passion she has for making her own original jewellery and designing for herself came after the realisation that having full creative control over her own products was really what she wanted to do. She states “I have always considered my self to have style and wished to share that with other people, now I can do that through my jewellery.”

Her must have jewellery making materials include: perspex, vintage plastic, chains, crystals and beads.

What I love about her collection is it can easily jazz up any outfit. Just add a statement Ili Goren piece and you’ll have everyone’s attention.

I can’t wait to get my first Ili Goren statement piece.
