FDC Young Designer Award

Fashion Designers and Craft maker’s (FDC) Young Designer Award is launching its registration process for all creatively gifted young people. The award is open to young designers between the ages 16-25 years who can design and produce a flamboyant, cutting edge garment (one look) paying homage to the brilliant fashion designer Alexander McQueen.

Designers who enter this award must have practical and technical experience. Entrant’s completed design will be showcased in a gala event at a Novotel Hotel in London; there are fantastic opportunities for the winners such as an opportunity to showcase a collection in New Jersey Fashion Week and Florida Fashion Expo. The Brief:
This year’s brief and final design is to design a cutting edge garment based on the life and work of ‘British Fashion Designer Alexander McQueen’. All designs will be showcased at a prestigious London venue. The organisers will work with and support entrants with this brief at the progress meetings.

FDC Radical Designer Award for Fashion Designers age 21 yrs and over

The FDC Radical Designer Award is aimed a fashion and accessory designers any age over age 21 years. This Award is a launch pad for emerging designers and is aimed at fashion designers who have a fashion label or are about to set up a fashion house. This award gives each designer an opportunity to demonstrate that they are cutting edge design talent and are the ones to watch in the coming years.

Winners will also be given an opportunity for their work to be put before the panel directors of New Jersey Fashion Week where one designer will be selected to showcase and debut a cutting edge collection at New Jersey Fashion Week. Celebration of Young Fashion Designer Award

Young designers between 9-15 years can enter the Celebration of Young Fashion Designer Award this is a slightly easier award for less experienced designers and will suit young people who are into fashion design but do not have much practical and technical experience. Young designers entering this award will be expected to make one design (one look). The winners for this award will automatically be put into the next Young Designer Award.

LONDON BASED VOLUNTEERS WANTED: The organisers of the Young Designer Awards and Young Designer Show are looking for Up and coming; Make up Artists, Hair Stylists, Female Models, Photographers, Stage managers, Presenters/Compares, journalists, Djs (to play designer CDs) and Stewards. Fashion students can gain valuable experience by assisting in the show production as volunteers. All posts are open to students living in London.
