My skincare routine has always been very simple; consisting of makeup wipes, micellar water and some sort of light face cream. It really doesn’t go much beyond those monotomous steps, however I am always interested and open to trying and testing some new products with the hope of a sudden, much needed wakeup call and skincare revelation.
I recently recieved a trio sample kit from Fresh in the post, containing three of their ‘Skincare Essentials’: Soy Face Cleanser, Rose Face Mask and Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream. Lev Glazman and Alina Roytberg, founders of Fresh first began their journey in 1991 by opening an apothecary in the States, ‘curating upscale, natural beauty products from around the world’. Their mission was to transform ‘everyday routines into sensorial rituals that are as indulgent as they are effective’ – something that I think many of us can agree we lack in our daily beauty and skincare methods.
25 years on, and Fresh are still dominating the skincare world with natural ingredients and revolutionary new projects.
Here are my thoughts on their latest products:
This cleanser was a real dream to use; it glided across my skin, smelt so natural and got rid of any excess makeup that my less than impressive wipes managed to do. I just dampened my skin and smoothed it over my face, left it for a minute to work it’s magic and then rinsed off with warm water – no fuss, no mess and it didn’t sting my eyes which I call a massive success. You only need a small amount too due to it’s thin consistency, which means that overall it is quite a cost effective product.
Anything rose scented is a winner in my eyes so I was very excited to try this soothing and hydrating mask. Much like the cleanser, this mask had a thin texture but instead of being a cream it was a cool, soft gel-like formula. My skin felt smoother after using the cleanser which I think really helped this mask to adapt to my skin. Again I used this on my face whilst my skin was damp, and left it on for around 5 minutes before rinsing it off whilst in the shower. As if the smell wasn’t beautifully intoxicating enough, the baby skin feel of my face after was heavenly. A really lovely product to add to your routine.
Claiming to ‘minimize and prevent signs of ageing, deliver intense hydration, and boost radiance‘ this face cream certainly gave itself some high expectations. Whilst I can’t comment on it’s ageing prevention properties (due to it being a sample size) I can certainly confirm that it did indeed keep my skin hydrated (without making it oily!) and it did give my face a slight glow which I could notice even after applying makeup. This cream is suitable to use morning or evening, so depending on your routine you can fit this easily into your skincare regime.
Overall I was really impressed with the Fresh range and will definitely be adding a few of their products to my 2016 Christmas list. Visit the Fresh website to view more of their cruelty-free products. Online orders also qualify for three free samples, so get shopping.
